"But we defeated Xanatos, and now the castle is ours" The naive mythical warrior stated proudly, believing this would be the last time he and his clan would have to face the betrayer that managed to break their sleep spell.
"Goliath, Xanatos is going to be on jail only for six months, he will come back and you will be vulnerable, that's why you need to find a new home" Elisa Maza insisted. The brave detective that befriended the gargoyles after the encounter against Xanatos and Demona, now had the mission to try and make his ignorant friend how exposed he would be after Xanatos came back from jail.
With the gargoyles turning into stone by night, it would be a piece of cake for Xanatos to destroy them if they kept being an obstacle on his plans. In fact, it was a miracle Xanatos' assistant, Mr. Burnett, was instructed to leave them alone. But Elisa knew this would change as soon as they thwarted another of his convoluted plans.
"NO, this is OUR HOME" Goliath roared, right as the sun started to rise freezing him in a fearsome pose for the day. Elisa just sighed, she would have to think on a new way to make Goliath and his friends see how vulnerable they were.
But it turned out Goliath was right.
A dumbfounded Elisa watched as Mr. Burnett explained to her and the Gargoyles that Xanatos would be away on a long trip, and how he knew he could entrust the castle to the Gargoyles.. and to Elisa. He even assured the detective all expenses would be covered, saying it would be an "insignificant" amount to deal with considering David Xanatos' vast fortune.
"See Elisa? he was defeated" Goliath basked on his victory while the detective rolled her eyes, but she had to concede after any suspicions she had failed to materialize. The days just went by and.. nothing happened. She could visit the castle at her leisure, get to know her new friends better and teach them about the dangers of New York and being seen, while also getting to enjoy the luxurious place with all the perks it offered, taking part on the hearty "breakfasts" Broadway happily offered to her and having time to lay back and relax from her hectic life as a cop, a job she no longer even needed as Goliath didn't hesitate offering her a space on "his castle".
