Erin stands there, sucking on a candy rather nonchalantly. She remarks, "Wow! These candies are like, really good!"
Thinking for a short while, she says, "I wish we could eat candy more often."
You sympathize with her plea, as your Mom is a health freak and usually never allows anything in the house that contains high fructose corn syrup or whatever the hell makes good food unhealthy.
Suddenly, speaking of your mom, Lynda walks right in the front door with a bag under her arm, trying to conceal a grin. Erin immediately begins pestering her - "What's in the bag Mom?! Huh?"
Lynda smiles coyly. "I got... Candy!!" She dumps the contents of her bag on the kitchen table. Snickers, Reese's, Twix, M and M's... The whole lot.
"But... Why?" You wonder. Suddenly, you realize. Erin's wish came true...
You glance over and realize that she has come to the same conclusion as you. Uh-oh.
She has a smirk on her face, which you know is bad. What is she up to? As she strolls up the stairs to her room, the jar of wishing candies in hand, you can't help but feel nervous. Maybe your friend Josh can cheer you up when he comes over later...
