You quickly held back the tears and smiled to yourself. "Sorry mom, I don't want to ruin your make up," you said to yourself. You took a deep breath and went to your mom and dad's bedroom to just take a nap, not bothering to change out of your mom's clothes she wore to the funeral. You knew your dad would understand. A mother just lost her son, it's perfectly okay for her to just want to be alone for a while.
The nap ended up being sleep, and you woke up the next morning still in the same clothes. You got up, took off the clothes, and went into the shower, washing your mother's body.
Getting out of the shower, you dried yourself off and went to change clothes. Your mother loved the professional look despite being a housewife, so you changed into a white blouse, grey slacks, a grey blazer and black high heels. You walked around for about 10 minutes making sure you could walk in them and looked in the mirror.
"Here mom," you said softly in her voice. "You took care of me all these years. Now let me return the favor. You deserve a break for a bit. Let me do what you normally do. I'm going to be the mother for a few days. The wife. You."
