His hands were really starting to bother him as he continued to finger the Ms. Burrieza's skin, Henry was beginning to wonder if it was safe to touch this suit or not considering the chemicals used to make it and all.
"Perhaps I should look into it more..." he muttered to himself, it was still early morning and no one in his house was up yet.
With his mind made up, he gathered up the skin and neatly folded it. He then placed it in a small bag that he could hide away from his parents and drained the bathtub so that there was no remaining evidence of his little experiment. The bag with the suit was hidden deep inside his closet where no one could find it but him.
Now that the task of hiding the suit was complete, Henry turned on the light at his desk and began reviewing the print out sheet he had that went over the instructions. This proved to be quite a long task as there had to be easily twenty pages of mostly useless material. The history of the suit creation, the reasoning for each material used in the process, the moralities and responsibility that each creator should have over the suit. Most of it was pretty dry and if Henry hadn't been so set on finding answers he'd have skimmed through it all like any normal school reading.
But his patient and diligence paid off when he discovered an entire paragraph titled "Side-Effects".
"As wearers of the suit may initially notice, the skin does not alter the physical form in anyway when first put on. But because the suit combines the DNA of the wearer with the DNA of the suit, over time some traits are shared and eventually the suit 'passes on' physical traits of the copied person to the wearer. This is an intended side effect of the chemicals used, as they are meant to act as an adhesive to combine the two DNA strands. In short, the longer the wearer of the suit remains in contact with the suit, the more they will physically become like the person mirrored by the suit. It is entirely possible for after a long period of time that the wearer will become an exact duplicate of the suit-person."
Henry gulped slightly. What he understood from the packet was that if he wore the suit, he'd slowly start to become a clone of Ms. Burrieza. Would it even be possible to change back if it came to that? He continued reading.
"These side effects are not, however, intended to be a permanent alteration to the wearer. The wearer's body is constantly generating new cells with the makeup of his old form, meaning the cells affected by the suit's DNA are replaced. If the wearer spends enough time away from the suit to allow his cells to recover (usual it's a time equal to the amount of time spent in the suit) his/her will revert back to its normal form. As a side note, the changes to the body are mostly random, judging by the tests done by the creators of the recipe, but they changes tend to happen in specific areas first. For example, one subject's hair changed first after spending twelve hours in the suit while another subject's voice altered first when spending the same amount of time in the same suit."
The nervous sweat going down the back of Henry's neck finally dried up. Wearing the suit was safe, though he would be changed into his Spanish by wearing it. But somehow that idea combined with the fact that he could always change back made him want to try the suit on even more. It'd be interesting to experiment and see the changes that happened day to day as he slowly transformed into another person.
There was also a question of what the limits were. Could he combine the powers of the suits? Wear a Ms. Burrieza for a few days then switch to maybe a suit of his sister the next? He could only think of the possibilities.
But sadly, he wouldn't have time to test if what he read was true just yet. Glancing over at his clock again, it read "6:36 AM". His family would start getting up soon and he'd have no time to try anything. He'd have to wait till he got home and maybe wear the suit overnight as he slept.
Henry's stomach growling as he stretched and yawned. "This is gonna be an interesting night..."
