Henry tore his eyes away from watching Emily's figure disappear down the hallway then carried on down the corridor. It was Friday and he needed to make sure he'd taken everything out of his locker, so off he went.
Somehow, even after going the other way, Emily had managed to get to the same part of the school before him and was sitting on a bench opposite talking on her phone. As Henry put the key into the locker door, he strained to hear what she was saying, she sounded quite upset.
"...But Mum, why? No, I'm not going, I can't, you can't make me, that's totally unfair! Yes, I know we haven't seen grandma for a while but you can't take me halfway across the country for the weekend just randomly like this. There's a party on Sunday and I've already said I'm going, you don't want them to think I'm a liar do you? No, no, I'm not!...", Henry could hear this half-argument even with his head buried in his locker, it was empty but he wanted to hear how this ended. Eventually, it drew to a close. With a sigh, Emily said "Fine. Whisk me away to the other side of the country if you want, I don't care any more, we're leaving tonight!? Urgh, you owe me something big now woman!", and with that, she let out another huff, hung up, and slipped the phone back in her pocket, setting immediately back off down the hall.
Henry backed out of the locker and turned round slowly, closing the door. An idea dawned upon him, "She's leaving tonight for what must be at least two days, no time to tell anyone, party to go to, and I have something which might allow me to take her place...", he looked at the piece of paper in his bag and twizzled the thread of hair in his pocket. "I have to try it out!".
