Steven knew what his new power was, but for now he decided against using it. Instead, he continued chatting with Becky and Natalie as normal, and the rest of his shift carried on as it usually did. All Steven wanted to do now was get a good night's sleep, because he and everyone else had to work a day shift tomorrow, and that meant helping customers, something Steven hated doing. At 9:45pm, Steven grabbed his coat and headed downstairs, making sure to sign out like everyone else. To his surprise, Liz suddenly walked up to him. "Would you like a like a lift home luv?" she asked him, causing him to look twice at her. He usually caught the bus, but he was sure going to take Liz up on her offer.
"Er...yeah, I'd like that, thank you!" he replied in gratitude.
"Okay, you can wait outside until I put the store alarm on and lock up" she smiled, as she signed out and got her shop keys from her handbag. Steven looked her over admiringly as he always did, and even though she was attired in a short black winter coat, a red, company sweatshirt, black pants and a pair of black, lace-up, flat shoes, he still approved. Drawing himself away, Steven waited outside the shop as he'd been told. Everyone else had already gone home, apart from Mona, who was waiting for her mom to pick her up.
Liz soon joined them outside, and after closing the shutter to the store, she asked Mona if she was going to be okay waiting alone. "We can wait for you if you like" Liz told Mona, who politely shook her head while running her fingers through her long black hair. She refused even though there was a pub across the road with several drunken men outside.
"I'll be okay" the teenager smiled, as she tried phoning her mom on her cell phone.
"Okay, well...see you tomorrow morning okay honey!" Liz said to her, before turning to Steven and gesturing in the direction of her little red car.
