Excusing the Creator's bad pun let's think up ways to make Rei fat.

The Gluttony Spirit: During one of Rei's rituals a powerful Gluttony spirit attacks, she tries fighting it but her attacks do nothing and it possess her. She then loses all memory of what happened before the spirit entered, leaving it to summon a Sloth Spirit that also enters Rei, leaving her to become an over eating lazy slob.
