Lindsey immediately tried to take the necklace off. She was already too tall for her standards, and probably for most people as well. What would her family and friends think of her seeing her like this? People had growth spurts, sure, but not like this. Lindsey already concluded that it was the amulet that she found earlier, which was making her feel stupid for putting it on in the first place.
She tried to take it off, but much to her fear, she couldn't. She tried to budge it a few times, then tried desperately to take it off. She was throwing a panic tantrum, crashing into objects in her room as she tried to take it off. For whatever reason, she couldn't lift it. It dangled in the front with the jewel, but the backside felt like it was attached to her. She tried pulling the backside, but couldn't. Some-how, the necklace was was attached to her.
"Lindsey! What was that sound?!"
Lindsey stopped in her tracks at the voice of her mother. She paused for a moment, before yelling out, "N-nothing! I just tripped!..." That was the best lie she could come up with, but that seem enough for her mother. "Be careful up there!...." Her mother shouted back.
Lindsey went to the mirror to see if she could see how the necklace looked like on her. She pulled her hair to the side to get a better view of her back neck as she adjusted herself to see it. To her horror, the necklace was somehow merged with her skin. She tried to yell, but her shock was too much.
She didn't hear the footsteps coming upstairs to go check on her. Her mother didn't quite believe in her lie and wanted someone to check on her. Lindsey turned to see her bedroom door open and revealed the person opening the door was
