Chapter #3

Attempted containment

    by: Unknown
Lindsay sat there, too confused to let shock or fear sink in. How was this even possible? Was she really a giantess or was this just a dream? She rubbed her hand, noting how breaking the fence had hurt a bit, which confirmed that this wasn't some dream. She really was huge. How huge though?

At that point people were starting to notice her, and she could hear voices nearby. She looked to her side and saw her neighbors peeking out their window. When the gaze of the giantess met theirs, they were quick to close their curtains.

"No, wait, please. Someone, I need help. This meteor made me this way. I'm still Lindsay, just bigger."

All of a sudden, Lindsay heard sirens in the distance and began to panic. Was she in trouble? What for? Breaking the neighbors' fence? She carefully stood, her slight movements making the ground tremble as she stood to her full height. To her amazement, she truly could see well over her house; on the road in front of the house, she saw a dozen squad cars as well as a few tanks blockading anyone from nearing her. A man then saw that her attention was on them, and he pulled out a megaphone to address her.

"Stand down! This will be much easier if you comply."

"Wait, please, I need help! I need to be normal again!"

The police and soldiers around the man with the megaphone all tensed up at the sheer volume of her voice. The megaphone man once again addressed her. "Quiet! Please lay down again with your hands at your sides! Don't make this harder than it needs to be!"

Lindsay was utterly confused, but also quite mad. Why would they not listen to her? Was she some monster now? Why was no one coming to help? "Sir, please! I'm not a threat!" Out of anger, she stomped her foot. The resounding shaking caused many of the soldiers and police to loose their footing, and one man accidentally fired his weapon at her, striking her in the chest. She reeled in pain, afraid that she might be dying. Luckily as she put her hand to her chest, she only felt a bruise forming; the bullet hadn't even pierced her skin.
