Lindsey’s curiosity overwhelmed her more sound judgment. She grabbed a stick near the base of the tree she’d been hiding behind earlier and prodded the substance with it. It took a small push to break the surface of the substance, almost like Jell-O. When nothing happened to the stick, Lindsey tossed the stick away and reached out with her own hand to touch the strange goo.
The moment one of Lindsey’s finger touched it, the goo sprang to life and engulfed Lindsey’s entire hand. Lindsey screamed when it jumped but was too scared to scream again when she saw it growing, oozing up her arm. She tried to wipe it off with her other hand, but the goo only started the same process there too. Within a minute Lindsey was completely surrounded by the semi-transparent goo. With her air cut off it wasn’t long before Lindsey blacked out.
