He looked around to only to see himself surrounded by an ocean of trees. Some of them being taken down and damaged behind the Arwing when during the crash landing, creating a small clearing with debris.
Looking at the outside from within the ship, he saw damage taken to the Arwing. Both wings had been torn off during atmospheric impact, the exterior burnt and damaged exposing circuitry, instruments including radar in the cockpit and interior lost power, and engines were shot and ruined to the point of nonfunctional. Overall, it was totaled and beyond repair and it was a miracle that he would survived it.
He checked his communicator watch and tried to make contact to his team.
"Slippy? Peppy? Falco? Are you there? Can anybody hear me?" He spoke into the communicator but only received static in response. Great, I'm too out of range. He thought to himself in slight frustration.
Fox opened up the cockpit and hopped onto the soft soil ground. Looking around again, he can hear birds chirping, the trees swaying in the calm breeze, and other natural forest sounds. He looked back at the Arwing in its totaled state and thought that there wasn't any reason in sticking around. It was better to look around to see anything useful nearby, whether it be food or shelter or some kind civilization that can help.
So he started to walk in a random direction, hoping to find something.
