Dr. Eggman had withdrawn from the public eye, worrying everyone. His Egg Bosses couldn't get in contact with him, and no one could detect the Death Egg anywhere. At all. Even the AI entities Phage and Nicole the Lynx couldn't detect him.
The good doctor preferred it this way. Ever since the Super Genesis Wave, he had felt that things were increasingly going against him if he acted publicly. So he withdrew completely, isolating himself from the world. He built some robots to maintain a food supply for himself, making a self-sustaining fortress home that was completely undetectable, even by Super Sonic.
Which meant he had free reign to experiment.
After a few weeks of building, he created a specialized, self-replicating cloud of nanites that spread out over the whole population. Everything was infected with the nanites, even the rocks, the trees... even Phage and Nicole. It gave him complete control over the minds, bodies, and personalities of everything on Mobius.
The first thing he did was implant a fear of Eggman's retaliation in his Egg Bosses and through them the Egg Army. With the exception of the fanatical Thunderbolt the Chinchilla, all of them had been in the process of either claiming their territories for their own control, or abandoning them to return to normal lives. This new fear made them paranoid of what Eggman would do if they gave up working for the Eggman Empire.
And so the Empire carried on.
Eggman smiled, his mustache bristling with delight. A perfect test run.
Now, to experiment.
He started small, with no one famous. He changed personalities, made Mobians do something different than they usually do, small stuff. Nothing that would be noticable. He would change men into women and vice versa, make women bustier or smaller chested (the latter being much rarer). After these test runs, he decided to have some REAL fun.
"Let's see... who to mess with first..." Eggman said to himself.  indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
