"...I was thinking about ordering pizzas. You know, from that deep dish place you guys liked. How does that sound?"
"Will there be enough for Jordan?" Jenny asked. As much as Jordan loved to eat, it was often her sister Jenny who made sure that Jordan's belly was filled to its limits.
"Of course, honey. I'll order extra so Jordan can eat as much as she can." Mother didn't mention that she planned to stuff herself as well as her daughters.
"Yaaay!" both girls cheered.
Shauna went to place the order, and about forty minutes later, the food was at their doorstep. She'd ordered three medium pizzas, one for each of them, even though she was fairly certain they wouldn't need that much. After all, as greedy as Jordan was, she was still young, and her stomach wasn't adult-sized yet. Nevertheless, it never hurts to have extra, she'd told herself on the phone. Perhaps her own greed was getting the better of her. She also put in an order of mozzarella sticks and a 2L bottle of soda. And for dessert, they had plenty of sweets in the fridge.
The girls were already at the table before she needed to call them in. One of the perks of having daughters who love to eat - they're never late to meals. Almost as soon as she put the first pizza down on the table, Jordan was reaching for the box and pulling out a slice, which made her smile.
"Jenny, I want you to make sure that Jordan eats that whole pizza, okay? If not, then neither of you are getting dessert."
"I want dessert!" piped up Jordan, still chewing pizza.
"I know, dear. But you've gotta eat your food before sweets."
"Okay Mom," they both answered.
Finally, Shauna sat down to her own pizza, feeling her stomach grumble. She'd been looking forward to indulging, too, and she wasted no time in starting to eat.
