As you see the massive dark figure drawing closer to you, you begin to freak out. Its sheer size had you terrified, and in a desperate attempt to scare it away, you immediately screamed out at the top of your lungs. The instant that the scream left your lungs, the massive figure seemingly jumped backward in fear before turning around and curling up into a ball. You then heard several sniffles and realized that your plan had worked a little too well.
Whatever the massive creature was, you had just scared it to tears. You couldn't believe it, but the enormous being whose mighty stature completely dwarfed your own was even more terrified than you were. You could tell that it was trembling, and you saw several large teardrops falling. Seeing how scared this thing was of you, you felt absolutely terrible about what you did. Reaching out, you proceed to stroke the large creature's back to try and calm it down. Unfortunately, in its nervous state, this had the opposite effect. The instant that your hand touched its back, the creature jumped and backed away from you nervously.
"No! Please don't hurt me!" it cried out in fear.
You realized that its voice was like that of a very young girl; and given the feminine voice, you made out that the creature was in fact female. Wanting to calm her down after your little stunt made her so terrified, you speak up in a calm voice.
"Don't worry, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm sorry for yelling at you, so please don't be afraid."
"R-really? Y-you promise that you're not going to hurt me?" she said, trying to wipe the tears from her eyes.
"Of course not. I couldn't even hurt you if I wanted to. To be honest, I only screamed because I was afraid of you..."
"You were afraid of me? Why?" she asks, beginning to finally calm down.
"Why don't you just turn around and see for yourself."
At that point, the young female creature slowly turned around and looked down at you. Seeing you there, her eyes lit up as she scooped you off the ground.
"Oh my, you're so cute and tiny! Now I get it... You were scared 'cause I'm so big compared to you, weren't you?" She asks, rubbing you into her cheek.
"Yeah. Now could you please put me down?"
"Ah, sure. Sorry about that, little guy. I just couldn't resist." She says with a cheerful smile taking over her face.
"It's okay, don't worry about it. I'm just glad to know that you aren't going to hurt me." You say with a laugh.
