Of all the aspects of being educated alongside somebody with a disability that had flashed through your mind before coming here, however, this was never one that occurred to you. Perhaps you could have imagined Laura might need actively taking to the bathroom every now any then, or at least helping with the process, but not that she'd need a diaper.
"It's alright; relax," Laura soothes, seeing how uncomfortable your reaction is to this revelation. "This is normal for me, so it's nothing to be embarrassed about."
"Right, okay," you murmur, still staring at the floor.
"No, seriously," Laura insists. "I'm only peeing; don't freak out. It's not that big a deal, once you get used to the idea."
"I guess," you mutter awkwardly.
"Do you think I'm really gross now?" Laura challenges, as you still work your hardest to politely look away.
"No," you shake your head, still looking at your feet.
"Then just look at me," Laura sounds slightly annoyed, speeding up her usual slowly deliberate speaking drawl at the expense of clarity. "I warned you because I didn't want you to freak out. And you might as well know all about it if you're going to keep coming here, 'cause I have to get changed however-many times a day. Still beats having to go up the stairlift at three miles an hour when you're busting, and then still have to get winched out of your chair onto the bowl, and get your clothes adjusted, and then maybe still not make it in time anyway."
