Feeling that you're forgetting something here, you find yourself hanging back despite the closing door, to make a last survey of the carriage. Fortunately, your mother reaches it, instead, just after it has closed, and manages to still trigger it to reopen by pounding frantically on the button.
"Daniel, come on!" she urges, practically falling out of the train onto the platform herself.
Just as the door starts to close again, you suddenly realise what you're missing. Your luggage, both yours and your mother's, in huge suitcases on racks at the front of the train. You run to it, but it's immediately clear you're only going to be strong enough to drag one off the train before the door starts to close again.
"Daniel!!!" your mother shouts again from outside, clearly not yet party to the same realisation as you, but her voice demanding you make an exit immediately.
