The large red ribbon atop the box, unties smoothly with a single steady pull, allowing you to take the lid from the box. Inside the innocuous skin likes folded like a bespoke red costume. As you pluck it from the box, it unfurls in front of you. Gripping the empty shoulders, the chest is revealed. Deep red with a familiar black and gold design. The red changes at the elbows to a matte black, and also from mid thigh this pattern repeats.
The empty head piece flops forward with just the hair visible. Your fingers tremble as you eagerly slip into the skin. The head is the last part to slip into place, and you adjust it until you can't feel any wrinkles in the surface. The spray hisses as you apply it, the zipper vanishing beneath it's assault, until you reach the base of your neck. There's a quiet metallic snap, and you feel the skin come alive. As the fastener falls to the floor.
With you sealed inside, the skin adjusts, shifting and distorting your body alters to match the character you've chosen. You stomach squirms, as you imagine gaining the powers that come with this character. You stride purposefully towards the full length mirror, adopting a heroic strut, and throwing your shoulders back.
