Peter tossed and turned as he lay restless in bed. It was 2:00 in the morning and he hadn't been able to fall asleep due to the hot and muggy summertime heat. He had left his bedroom window open to help cool the room down, but it was to no avail. As he flipped his pillow over for the umpteenth time, a gentle breeze ruffled the curtains and provided a much-needed escape from the balmy air. "Finally" he moaned, "now I can sleep". Peter then proceeded to flip his pillow yet again, and drift off into a deep sleep. However, as he lay deep in slumber, a mysterious figure crept through the open window and into Peter's bedroom. Unbeknownst to spidey, the figure had been poised outside his window all night, listening to every ruffling of the bedsheets and waiting for the opportune moment to strike. Now was the perfect time. As the shape crept closer to the bed, it pulled a syringe out of a pocket in it's labcoat. Once bedside, the creature hesitated for a moment while staring at Peter's face. Then, it quickly- but with great care -lifted spidey's exposed forearm up and inserted the syringe into it, causing Peter to stir and mumble something. Luckily, he didn't wake. During this momentary unrest, the figure didn't move or breath at all, for fear of failing his goal. Once Peter settled down again, the syringe was fully emptied into his arm and then extracted. The creature then gently laid Peter's arm down again and silently crept back out the window, scales glistening in the moonlight. The first part of his plan was a success, but now he had to wait for it's results.
Peter Parker awoke that morning feeling tired and with a soreness in his right forearm. "Man I really need to get an air conditioner" he said to himself. He then got up and stretched at the window, shutting it thereafter and basking in the warm sunlight for a moment before heading off to get some breakfast. As he reached up to grab some cereal from the cupboard, he noticed a small dot on his forearm. "Whats this?" he asked himself as he examined the pinprick. "Is that... blood? What the? It is!" he shouted. "Oh no, the window!" Peter then put two and two together and decided someone must have come through the window and taken a sample of his blood, possibly for some crazy experiment. Although incorrect, he correctly chose the suspected perpetrator of the incident- Dr. Connors, a.k.a. Dr. Lizard! With his face now becoming very pale over the realization of this, he quickly finished getting ready and donned his suit to confront the Doctor.
Once at his office, Peter burst through the door and quickly shot a web at Connors so that he couldn't run away. "What did you do to me?" Spidey demanded.
"I have no-"
"Oh shut up, yes you do! What did you do to me last night while I was sleeping? Did you take my blood? What do you want with me?!"
"Alright, alright, calm down Peter. Strenuous activity will only make it worse."
"Make it worse? What are you talking about?" With that, Spiderman tore his webbing away and grabbed Connors by his collar, holding him up against the wall with both arms. "You'd better tell me what the hell is going on or I'll web you up so tight it will take days for anyone to break you out, do you understand?" he growled.
"Yes" Connors gasped. "But you don't"
"Wha-" Peter looked at his arms, specifically his biceps, and saw that they were... expanding?!
