The Mystery Machine pulls in front of the eerie house. It looked like a haunted house. As usual, Shaggy and Scooby jump and start shaking in fear. Fred knocks on the door and it opened, revealing a short bald man with a mustache. He asked what the gang wanted, and Fred replied that they were here to solve the mysterious occurrences that were happening in the mansion. The man let them in.
The man revealed himself to be Maxwell Demo, the owner and resident of the mansion. He explained that at night, visitors claimed to have seen a odd shadow roaming the halls. Those who followed it vanished and were never seen again. As a result, all the staff quit and he was left to do everything by himself and no one has visited him at all lately. Fred then said that the gang should split up to cover more ground and find clues quickly. Fred, Daphne, and Velma went to explore the first and second floors while Shaggy and Scooby were sent to look in the basement. After entering through a rusted old metal door, the duo entered the dusty cellar. The duo walked down the stairs wile shaking in fear. They suddenly heard a super eerie laugh echo throughout the basement. Scooby immediately jumped into Shaggy's arms and a monstrous shadow appeared right in front of them. The pair screamed and began to run up the stairs. Before they could reach the door, a noxious stench was sprayed in their faces. They both were knocked out.
Scooby woke up feeling a little bit groggy. He remembered what happened before he was knocked out and immediately started looking for Shaggy. He couldn't find him. Scooby was trapped in some weird room with no noticeable door. The walls, floor, and roof all were made of stone. Scooby tried to move but found himself unable to. Scooby found himself chained down to a steel chain by some bronze chains. Scooby then heard a loud buzzing noise and turned around to see a hole open in the wall. A crazy helmet with lightbulbs attached to it came out and stuck itself to Scooby's head. "Let the experiment begin" a mysterious voice exclaimed. Scooby shuddered in fear. He was going to be turned into a lab rat! His chair rotated 90 degrees to the left. Scooby found himself staring at another chair with a helmet like his over its occupant.
