Luna's taking some pounds for the team, but...

Okay so who is it that is growing to big, and why do they need to resort to these extremes?

Here are 2 scenarios:

Scenario 1 Hermione and Ginny are spending time at the Burrow and Mrs Wesley is making food that is too rich trying to plump the girls up, as they do not wish this Luna agrees to use the ritual to take the weight of their shoulder (and other parts). (Note: because of this Luna's weight gain shouldn't be too rapid, after all it's only 2 people, however things could get out of hand if Molly grows concern that Ginny and Hermione aren't plumping up, and takes steps to try and rectify the issue, making more problems for Luna as her efforts impact her instead, especially as she grows more desperate)

Scenario 2 Perhaps, in her efforts to thwart Harry and Dumbledore's army, Umbridge starts making to house elves make the food of suspected members especially fattening, to make them obese, lethargic slobs who cannot pose a threat to the ministry. To protect her friends Luna sacrifices her body to ensure the rest remain in fighting shape. (Luna's gain should likely be very fast in this scenario, as a whole group are funneling their weight into her, since the plot is tied directly to Book 5 authors may want to use the semi popular AU that Hogwarts starts at age 14 instead of 11, so Luna would be 18 instead of 14)
