A Bribe

"Alright Christine, what if I gave you some money?" Sam said, smiling.
"Money? How much..?" Christine replied, skeptical.
"Oh I dunno...a couple hundred bucks, maybe? How's that sound?"
"A couple hundred?! Sam that's fantastic, I forgive you for everything!"
Sam smiled. "Good, that's what I like to hear."

Wait, why wasn't I getting offered compensation for the torture I've been through? She's been treating Christine way nicer than she's been treating me!
"Hey, Sam!" I yelled up to her, very frustrated.
Sam's gaze turned from Christine and faced me. "Yes?"
"Christine hasn't endured even half of what you put me through, where the hell is my money?"
Sam's smile faded from her face.
