"Ignorance is bliss," or so the saying goes, and as for Dan the change laid upon him by his sister made of him a horse both body and mind, he being then as a young two year old stallion thought only of what was fun to his male equine mind. The acclimation portion of the spell what Kat meant to use to cover over the reason for the sudden appearance of a new horse at the farm, she failed to specify how it should respond to all who knew her brother ever existed. When as after Kat had sent Dan into her delight for him a bestial oblivion, she did not realize her mother, she being a witch too, would know she had a son and daughter. The thought of what to say left Kat wondering as to how to explain the sudden disappearance of her younger brother!
"After all, it was his choice as what he asked her to change him into a horse, form, and her spell for him became more involved than she expected, as he ran away to live somewhere being a young stud!" That bit of girlish reasoning sound good to Kat, she thinking her mother thought more of her daughter and less about her son, as Dan being a male was an inferior being.
"Dinner time would become as warfare struggling to conceal the truth!"
"Dinner," called a loving mother to her family, as the table was set for four, she rather expected to see all of her family there, together.
That work-a-day father arrived to the dinner table and seeing a lovely meal prepared so well he kissed his wife and sat down, waiting for the children to arrive.
The Mom was next to take her seat at the table across from her loving husband. As next to enter the room was Kat, she parading ito the room swooped with her cute butt into the dinning room chair and smiling to her parents she thanked them for being so good to her.
"Daniel, we are waiting..., where is that boy now?" Mom said, as no sooner did she say as ask than something inside her more mature witching mind told her that great powers had visited their house that afternoon.
"Katherine..., where is your brother, I was born but not just yesterday, my sensing abilities tell me some great as dark powers visited this our house and home during the late afternoon, about the same time I asked you and Dan as who was making all that noise." A stern looking mother sat then staring at her daughter.
"Oh holy..., as Katherine..., oh dearest you know what I said about Kat and Dan, as giving her her powers, she was too spiteful of her brother and something would happen, as by the look on her face I suspect it has!" A worried father thinking of his non-magical son was at the mercy of a sister renown by all the family members as owning no inkling of showing mercy.
"Katherine what happened, where is my son, your brother Daniel?" Mom said as she continued to stare as Kat tried hard not to let their eyes contact, as her mother could read the mind of her daughter like a cheap ten cent novel.
"We were talking and he congratulated me for my birthday and then asked if I had any powers yet, I said I did and had begun study of my first spell book. He asked, he did, as want me to change him into a horse, he being a male..human, wanted to experience being male as would a young stallion, so..., I helped him gain knowledge by becoming a horse, and he just, ran away to be what he found as so wonderful!" Kat said, she telling her lie filled story with a very nonchalant style as if what happened was for the best.
