Dan awoke several hours later to the sound of chatter and general noise. It sounded like a party.
He rubbed his eyes and looked around. He was naked! And... in a cage??? He was still in his house, but the room was decorated with party equipment, with a large banner hanging off the ceiling with the words "HAPPY WITCHDAY, KAT!" written across it.
Dan stood upright and looked around the room. It was full of people, including both his parents. He looked at them in confusion and desperation, but they just smiled reassuringly, as if keeping your son in a cage was normal, everyday life.
"Hello, Danny boy." It was Kat. "I got a party after all. Quite a surprise! My 18th birthday is my "Witchday", apparently, so it's pretty important."
"Can I ask why I'm locked away naked like an animal?!" Dan was furious.
"It's tradition for new witches to perform a spell on their closest relative. In our family, this spell is usually transformation..."
The lights dimmed and Kat prepard her magic equipment. The guests focused on Dan as Kat began to read a spell.
