Man, this job is boring. Nothing interesting ever happens in this town. You really should have taken that job at Arkham. At least the pay is good, right? You took this job so you could pay your way through the GCU Forensic Science program, and also take care of your aunt. She is really the only family you have left, after your parents died in that failed robbery when you were just a boy. Without her, you would have been bounced around Social Services for most of your childhood. You will always be grateful for everything she has done for you. The least you can do is help out with the bills. People always told you that great things come from adversity. Maybe for superheros. All you have to show for your tragic life story is a strong moral code and student loans.
At least the artifact you are guarding seems interesting. The Sandals of Athena were on loan from Themyscira as part of an outreach program to the Kingdom of Man. This is a really big stride forward in diplomatic relations with the notoriously isolationist Amazons. They were supposedly made for Athena to wear during her long nights planning stratagems for battles the next day. The were then gifted back to the Amazons and passed down from queen to queen, granting any who wore them the wisdom and power to conquer any enemy. Apparently even Wonder Woman has worn them! This is why they are here, as part of the Justice League Exhibit here at the Gotham Museum of History.
While all of that is very cool, you were interested in them for another reason. You just so happened to have a pretty big foot fetish, and a major crush on the local super-heroine population. The idea that Wonder Woman wore those shoes turned you on like crazy! At least it gave you something interesting to fantasize about while sitting in a chair for hours on end. Unfortunately it also made you more than a little distracted, which was easily taken advantage of. You didn't notice but you were being watched, through rose-tinted goggles, from on high. Sitting in the rafters was none other than one of your favorite morally ambiguous super-persons, Catwoman! She had already scoped out the whole place and knew you were the key to getting one of the most valuable artifacts on the market right now. She was also aware of your more peculiar "interests".
