Link was the target of an errant spell.

Link was waking up. Zelda was over him trying to shake him awake.

"Link, wake up!" Zelda shouted in a worried way.

"I'm up. what happened?" Link asked, as he began to get up. Zelda was helping him up.

"I was trying out a new spell and I guess I messed up a few things. The spell went out of my control and hit you." Zelda said.

"That explains why I was knocked out. Do you know what the spell might do to me?" Link asked.
