A nurse comes in to do her measurements for the records. Natsumi holds the nurse's hand as she steps onto weight/height scale. Natsumi carefully steps on to it, first her weight is measured, and slowly rolls to a digit showing of 33.8lbs. But just as the nurse wrote down the weight measurements, the digit started to go up! It went from 33.8lbs to 35.4, then 39.9lbs.! The nurse shook her head and just ignored it. The Nurse then flipped a switch and the machine switched over to measure her height. A small scale came out from the top and lowered a arm till it was balanced on top of Natsum's head. Her heart started to race, she was so scared what her height was and how much she probably grew already! The machine finished and the Nurse said out loud, "3 feet and 4 inches tall." Natsumi let out a soft, but very glad sigh or relief. But then suddely. She began to feel odd, this warm feeling slowly filled her and she could feel her heart rate speeding up. Her face began to feel very flush, then she heard something she didn't want to hear... the Nurse looked back at the scale and noticed it had changed. "Oh sorry sweetie, I must made a mistake, you are actually 3 feet 5 inches tall, I must have been not paying attention or it could be you darn kids are growing up faster than my days." The nurses said with a playful tone. Natsumi's stomach just rolled and her heart fell into her throat. It may have been a mere inch, but it was a sign it was starting. To her at least. The nurse kindly asked her to step off the scale and just before Natsumi turned, the scale showed she grew yet another inch! But Natsumi didn't see this, the nurse however did. But wrote it off as the scale re-calibrating her height since she moved.
Dr. Reinvich exited the room and left the nurse with Natsumi and her mother. The nurse explained that one more check was needed and Dr. Reinvich would be back for the last part of the annual check-up. The nurse lifted Natsumi's arm softly and rolled her sleeve up. She wrapped a blood pressure cuff around her forearm, and just started to bump the device. Though Natsumi began to notice the cuff was starting to shrink around her forearm, almost like her arm was growing! She watched in horror as the cuff grew tighter around her arm, but was this all in her head or was she really starting to grow some more at a very slow pace?
