Chapter #4

Thinking with your stomach

    by: Drakin Author IconMail Icon
As any seasoned magic user could explain, wishes were a dangerous thing if left open to interpretation. The more open they were the more creatively they could be twisted to mean many things.
Blaze waited for what seemed like ages (but really just a couple minutes) for something to happen. His young mind and rash nature deluding him into thinking he'd been waiting for hours. He was beginning to get hungry too. Idly he began wondering what they'd be having for dinner when he got back? Maybe some of his favorites like roast boar with a honey glaze...
Blaze blinked in confusion and smacked his lips. It was so strange. He could swear he tasted the meal he'd just daydreamed of. It was as if the flavor was fresh on his tongue after taking a big bite of the cooked meat. And the more he thought about it, the more he could swear he tasted it.
However what he was unaware of was the gurgling that filled his belly. The food he imagined was not 'real' but his body believed it was and every time he pictured a whole roasted boar it was as if he'd eaten that same dish. His sides stretched and swelled out as he lay on his stomach his limbs began to thicken with new layers of adipose. Even his tail and rump had begun to expand with new fatty deposits.
Blaze had yet to notice any of this though. He tried again, attempting to imagine another meal he liked. He thought of the mutton stew his grandfather liked to prepare, it wasn't his favorite but he enjoyed it. And sure enough Blaze was certain every time he tried to focus on the meal he could taste the delicious food just as if it had finished trickling down his throat.
Blaze was unaware of his situation as he tried it with meal after meal, his figure growing thicker all the while as his stomach gurgled in hunger. After all the food wasn't really filling his stomach, he was only imagining it, but the imagined meals were having a real effect on his figure.
It wasn't until he brought his clawed hand up to his chin to scratch an itch and met something unusual he he looked down at himself... and saw the billowing fold of neck flat that made him look like a bullfrog in mid croak.
"What the hell!?" The young dragon shouted, his voice an octave deeper as his looked over his significantly thicker body, "I didn't want this! I don't want to be a blob!"
He looked again at the water. It had the same color as his moms blueberry ice cream treats, and in thinking that his stomach swelled a little more Maybe if he could take another drink he could wish it away. The question was if he could even make it to the water and focus long enough to make the wish?
Blaze tried to heave himself up...

Choice 1: He can't make it, he's gotten too fat. All he can do is wait and hope help arrives.

Choice 2: He drags himself to the water and tried to undo the effects, but food pops into his head and he makes a food based wish.

Choice 3: He makes it to the waters edge but isn't used to the new weight, loses his balance and falls in. Who knows what that might do.

You have the following choices:

*Noteb*
