Chapter #3

The ruins and their portals.

Crystal wanted to run to her parents and tell them that Blaze ran off, but, not knowing what her cocky brother could get into, she decided to fly after him, to keep an eye on him. Mom and dad would fully understand her valiant effort, wouldn't they?

She followed him, keeping out of sight encase he looked back, but he never did. They flew further and further away from the safety of the temple, and more than once did she want to turn around, but she kept her wits together.

They flew what seemed like hours, and Crystal was just about to reveal her presence to her brother and ask where was going, but the red dragon suddenly dived like a hawk into the treeline and disappeared from sight.

Crystal dived after, breaking through the leaves and branches, and skidding to a halt. When she regained her composure, she was met with a peculiar sight: ruins of a old swamp temple lied before, grass, weeds, and other plant life growing all over it, but it was much bigger than the one her grandfather lived in.

She spotted Blaze running across a bridge towards the entrance of the temple. Crystal took off after him, running across the same bridge. She entered a large hallway with old rotten tapestries hanging on the walls. She continued down the hallway until she reached a large room with a dome for a roof.

What caught Crystal's attention was the bizarre portals that surrounded the room. Each of them had a statue on them depicting a dragon of some sort of nature. For example, one had a very old looking dragon, another had a extremely muscular dragon, and another had a dragon with a out of proportion member.

She saw Blaze standing around in front of the portals, his claw resting on his chin. He was most likely choosing which portal to enter. But before Crystal could call to her brother, he suddenly dashed off to the nearest portal, which had a...
