There was a rumble that sent the very ground where Spyro and Infernous stood shaking. Above them the mountain began to collapse, rocks and boulders sliding down the hill.
"Quick, get out of the way!" Spyro cried, taking to the sky.
Infernous did not hesitate, following his father. From the air they saw a red mass began to emerge from the crumbling mounting, which sent out echoing gurgles, growls and sloshing noises across the swamp.
Infernous could not believe that this was once his son a few hours ago. Things like limbs were non existent on this blob, which supported a butt the size of the swamp's temple, boulder-sized cheeks, and rolls of fat that rested on a belly that covered acres of land.
Along his sides were large, swollen lumps, which, Spyro and Infernous guessed, was where Blaze's legs were sucked in. There was also a strong smell, like burning oil, coming from him, and, If they looked closely, they could see greenish blue liquid leaking out between his folds.
They two dragons cast each other uncertain looks before they descended, landing on the surface of the red dragon's back, which sent them wobbling and almost stumbling forward, for it was almost like walking on a jumping castle.
It took a while for them to reach Blaze's face. Between the giant cheeks, the huge fat chin that jutted forward, and a lip about the size of a bicycle's tire, Infernous saw a little snout.
"Son!" Infernous called, worried, "Son! Can you hear me?"
He could see two brown eyes open, looking very tired.
"Dad?" a weak voice came, "Ith that you."
"Yes, it's me," he answered, "Just relax; we'll fix you."
He would have patted his son's head for reassurance, but he could not find it, so, he patted his cheek instead.
He turned to Spyro. "Is there any way we could fix this?" he asked.
Spyro was silent for a few moments, the sounds of Blaze's noisy body being the only thing breaking the silence.
"If the Lake was still visible," Spyro finally said, "We could try and use that to wish him back to normal, but it's, unfortunately, covered by Blaze's body. The only thing we can hope for is a spell that could diminish his fat a little to get to the Lake below."
"But what spell could possibly able to such a thing?" Infernous said.
"I don't know," Spyro said, "But if I go back to the temple I can search around a little."
"I'll stay here," Infernous said.
"Good," said Spyro before he flew away.
