"Ooh, I don't want this!" said Marina, slamming her over-sized right foot down.

"Yes, you do".

Marina looked around, but there was nobody around that she could see. She had a feeling, though, that whoever/whatever it was that said that wasn't something that was seen. "Who are you?" said Marina.

"I'm your inner desire, child" responded the voice in Marina's head, as if Marina knew the answer.

"My inner desire isn't to have over-sized feet, you ass!" said Marina in retribution.

The voice merely chuckled, saying "Oh, but it is... also, there's no need to go and start swearing, dear; let's be civil. Come on: haven't you always wanted to have big feet; haven't you always wanted to crush those who displeased you?"

Marina...
