Jason Land sat at his computer with a bemused look on his face. He chuckled as he mumbled to himself. "You've got to be kidding me.."
Did someone actually think he would believe this crap? A wish-granting e-mail?!?!?!
Jason was a smart kid and he was actually a bit insulted to think that someone would think he would buy into this.
The fifteen year old had a distinctive, if nerdy look to him. A little chunky, he was a bit pale and wore oversize jeans and sweatshirts with very little variation. His wild mop of brown hair and trademark thick framed glasses completed his ensemble.
He re-read the message a couple of times. "So...I figure if I type anything back whoever wrote this thing will print it off and mock me within an inch of my life." he said aloud. "They must think I'm a grade-A-moron!"
Jason went back to his net-surfing whilst listening to his I-Pod; determined to forget the obvious trap some schoolmate or another had laid for him.
As the evening dragged on, Jason found himself going back to his in-box again and again. It had to be a joke...but, what if it wasn't? What if there was even a microscopic chance that it was possible?
The hours rolled by as Jason did his best to put the stupid e-mail out of his mind. Try as he might however, he couldn't stop considering it. What if it were true...could it be possible...
Self-preservation in the face of potential mockery melted away with the minutes on the clock. As the night wore on and Jason's tired mind continued to consider the possibility of a granted wish. Finally, fifteen minutes or so after midnight the teen gave in. He typed out his wish.
