Rob was quickly transformed into his former six year old self, and remarked, "I forgot what a rush it was to be this young! This is gonna be so much fun!" When Kate suggested settling down onto the couch to watch the show that was on, they all agreed at first, to get used to their bodies. Yet only five minutes in, Robbie and Laura were squirming, and eventually Kate caught on that they were restless.
Pausing the TV, Kate went upstairs to locate some toys. When she came down ten minutes later with a dollhouse, several Barbie dolls and other figures, Legos, trucks, and dress-up costumes, she saw that Robbie was running rings around the couch. Spreading the toys across the living room floor, she settled down to watch her show. Looking up at the end, nearly an hour later, she saw that Laura and Robbie were happily playing.
Laura had dressed up as a princess, her pink gown twirling as she spun around in circles, getting dizzy. Dolls were scattered about the floor in various modes of dress, and she clutched one in her hand. Robbie was banging two trucks together while dressed in his Batman costume, making sound effects. She couldn't believe that her sixteen year old daughter, who yesterday had been obsessing over a new pair of shoes she got, was now happily playing dolls, and that her seventeen year old son, who had been only concerned with girls yesterday, was currently smashing trucks together while making crashing noises.
"Are you guys having fun?"
"Yes, Mom," came the reply.
"I can't believe how much fun I'm having with this," Laura said, gesturing to the scattered toys. "I didn't want to play with them at first, but then I really wanted to dress them up. When I saw this dress, I couldn't help but put it on. Is that weird?"
"Same with me! I don't know why, but I'm having so much fun just banging stuff together and playing superhero. I don't get why...I'm still seventeen, I just look six, right?" Robbie said. "And I'm hungry!"
Do they...
