Lizzy just stared at her friend, face frozen in a perplexed expression.
"What!" she finally blurted out, more of a statement than a question.
"I knew you'd react like that!" Clara said with a smile. "But it's all true! It's the same thing with every girl I saw Jacob go out with. From the really chubby Jessica, to the girl with the huge gut Vanessa, to the bottom heavy Briella, and... who else am I forgetting? Oh, well! What I'm trying to say here is that I've seen each girl bring a whole pie when going out on a date with him!"
"That's... rather... weird." Lizzy's eyebrows furrowed. "Are you sure it wasn't for some weird fetish of his? You know how many such things are out there on the internet!"
Clara shook her head. "But every time he then sits down on a nearby bench with his current girlfriend and they eat it together! You could even see that he taste tests it by taking a small slice and then after that he cuts a much larger slice for him and his girlfriend." Clara usually left soon after not wanting to interrupt them so she never got to see if Jacob cut an equally large slice for himself but she was sure that was the case.
"I don't know... something seems very off with what you just said. If he enjoyed their cooking why would he switch girlfriends so often?"
Clara shrugged. "Maybe they weren't improving as much as he hoped?"
"But then why would I want to go out with someone like that?" Lizzy sighed.
