An Uninvited Guest

         Deputy Angie first gets one arm, then her back, and finally her other arm and head all stuck in the incredibly tacky webbing. She cries out for help as she suddenly feels the lines of webbing she is stuck to being hoisted upwards, into a large tree. When she looks up and sees exactly what it is dragging her upwards into it’s thick web, she faints out cold in fright.

         Awakening to loud shots from a gun, Angie finds herself back on the ground, her lower body wrapped up tight in thick webbing, and her upper body clothed in only her bra as a man in hunting gear with a rifle cuts her out of her web-stuck outer clothes.

         “The thing’s webs don’t seem to hold up well against metal, but they stick like the dickens to organic material like clothing and skin.”, says the man, adding, “I apologize for the clothes, Miss. We were just out here hunting in your neck of the woods when I found my campmates all dangling in the trees in these webs, like cocoons. The beast shot webbing at me too, but I ran away. I wandered around in the woods, trying not to leave a trail for the thing, and when I walked up on you being lifted up into the tree like them, I took a few shots at the thing. It looks like a huge—“

         “I know. I saw it”, shivers Deputy Angie as she steps shivering out of her now ruined Ranger uniform. Now in just her undies, boots and ranger hat, she is retrieving what she can salvage of her equipment when she suddenly realizes, “Oh my God! My little sister Jennifer is somewhere out there, camping in these very woods tonight with her friends. I've got to save her!"

         "Thank you so much for the help, mister", says Angie, shaking the old hunter's hand, "I'm going to---"
