"What was that?" Kristofferson asked, arms shaking a little from fright.
Ash walked over towards him. "What was what?" he asked, looking around. "Are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost or something."
Kristofferson shook his head. Did he just imagine that bright flash of light? Was he going crazy? In any case, it was over now; no need to worry about it. He started to say something to Ash when he was stunned to see Ash stuffing the fruit into his mouth, chewing.
"Hey, don't eat that!" Kristofferson cried. "It can't be safe."

"I dunno," Kristofferson said. "I think one was enough." He burped, and then felt something gnawing away at his own stomach. "Then again, it was pretty tasty..."
Both boys approached the tree and each grabbed another piece of fruit from the low-lying branches. They began eating again, these ones going down quicker than the others. But their hunger only seemed to grow. They grabbed another, and another, slowly eating all the fruit on the tree.
All the while, they didn't notice the changes that were happening to their bodies. It was only when they had each eaten ten pieces of fruit that they looked at one another, and gasped. Something incredibly strange had happened. Unbeknownst to them, the fruit had caused them to...
