This choice: Only his mom, looking frustrated. • Go Back... John's mother, Natalie Harrison answered the door. She sighed, seeing you. "I am having a rough morning, Luke." Patiently, she said. "Please make this brief."
"I, uh, got this cute antique at a garage sale today and I was hoping John could give me a history on it." Showing Natalie the bracelet, you said. "Is he available?"
A crash from inside the house caused Natalie to wince as you heard John roaring in anger. "John, you need to calm down!" Firmly, a female voice said. "Don't make me force you into a time out!"
"I guess I came at a bad time." Wincing, you said.
Natalie sighed. "John is normally a very calm person but someone hurt Megan Thompson at school." Calmly, she explained. "Look, I doubt he is any mood for a social call so I'll tell him you stopped by after I get him to calm down."
With that, she closed the door and you could hear John still roaring in anger with the girls of the house pleading with him. "If Brittany calls John, I am so dead." Turning pale, you muttered. "I better smooth things out with her as fast as I can."
You returned to your car and stared at the bracelet, trying to think of what to do next. "Hmmm... Brittany's little sister, Trish loves jewelry. Maybe if I give this gift to her, she will talk to Brittany for me."
You smiled at the idea and drove out to the park where you knew Trish would be playing with her favorite babysitter, Harry Rich. You knew that Harry was into antiques but you were more interested in getting Trish on your side. "Hey, how is my favorite little girl?" Trying to sound sweet, you said.
Trish looked up at you and rolled her eyes. "You really stink when it comes to pick up lines."
Harry chuckled. "Kids say it as they see it." Shrugging, he said. He then turned serious. "What do you need here, Luke?"
"I just wanted to give Trish here a little gift, that's all." Lightly, you said.
"You know my rules, Luke." Standing between Trish and you Harry said. "Trish does not get anything from anyone without her parents okay unless I examine it first."
"You are really a hard a..." You began.
"Now, Luke!" Annoyed, Harry demanded.
You sighed and held up the antique item. "It's just a bracelet I got at a garage sale, man."
Harry took the bracelet and examined it carefully. "Sorry, I can't let you give this to her." Tossing it back, he said. "Her parents would kill me."
"What?" Taken back, you asked. "It's just a bracelet." You opened it up. "See, look."
"I wouldn't do that, Luke." Serious, Harry warned.
It was too late, you clamped the bracelet onto your wrist with an audible click. It was very tight as it was not made for a wrist your size. You trued to Harry who merely sighed, shaking his head. "I tried to warn you but now you're stuck with it."
"What do you mean?" Confused, you asked. "It's just a harmless bracelet."
"It's a bracelet that does not come off unless you have a key, you idiot!" Annoyed, Harry hissed. "Good luck getting that off unless you can get the person who ran that garage sale to give or sell you the key to unlock it."
Trish giggled, hearing that. "It suits you, Luke." Smiling, she teased.
"Very funny, squirt." Frowning, you said. "Only I think this bracelet was made for a little girl."
With that, you walked back to your car only to be stopped by Harry. "Where do you think you are going, little miss?" Serious, he asked. "You better than to wander off."
"What?" Confused, you asked.
Then you caught a glimpse of yourself in your car's rear view mirror. You had somehow become...
