"Timmy." his mom called out when Timmy opened the door to his house. "Get washed up, I've got dinner ready."
"Oh, boy," Timmy thought. He didn't remember ever being this hungry before. He washed quickly and took his place at the table. His little sister was in her place and his Mom was putting food on the table. It was a big spread. There was a big pot roast with a pile of vegetables, creamed corn, creamed spinach. He looked around for his Dad.
"where's Dad," he asked.
"Working late," his mother answered. "After I fished his favorites, he called and said he had to work late. "I'd have never fixed so much food if I'd known."
"Don't worry Mom," Timmy told her "It looks real good and I'm starved."
Timmy staked his plate with huge helpings of roast and vegetables swimming in rich broath and started eating. It tasted so good. He had never noticed how savory the fat on the roast was and how easily it slid down his throat. Ignoring the teasing of his little sister, Timmy made a pig of himself, not stopping until every plate was clean. His Mom had tried to save some food for Dad but Timmy just kept eating. It all tasted so good and the full feeling was so pleasant that he couldn't stop stuffing.
"Man that was good." Timmy wiped his mouth and sighed. "Dad really missed a good spread."
"I've never seem you eat like that," Timmy's Mom said.
"Yeah," Timmy replied. "I just seem to be hungry all the time these days. It must be some kind of growth spurt."
