Suddenly, the doorbell rang, diverting Danny's attention, and a second later, he heard what sounded like his father's voice (it was the same pitch, but sounded way more effeminate than usual) call up to him from downstairs "Honey, I think your date is here!"
Danny's eyes went wide. Date?! He looked around his bedroom and really looked this time, noticing that his video game systems were gone. So he definitely wasn't spending the night doing that. Then, looking down at his clothing, the purse over his shoulder, he realized that he looked like he was dressed up to go somewhere. But a date? With who?
Hesitantly, he left his bedroom and made his way down the stairs. His father (Stan) was standing at the bottom, looking quite strange with long curly dirty-blond hair, make-up, jewelry, a light-colored blouse and flower-print skirt. It wasn't like something his mom would wear normally, but it was already clear to Danny that the people in town (including himself) hadn't swapped with other people, in some way, but rather were dressing like how they would if they were the opposite gender. If his dad had been a woman (when the town was normal), then this was what he would normally dress like.
