“Sarah, what's the matter?” your mom asks as she enters the room.
Before you have a chance to say anything, Sarah (from within your body) answers your mom.
“Sarah's angry at me because I won't play along with some dumb game of hers,” she tells mom. “She wants to pretend that we can switch bodies like in Freaky Friday or something. But I told her I'm busy and I don't want to play make-believe that I'm an eight-year old girl. That's just stupid! Why would I want to pretend I'm a girl. So anyhow, she's all pissed at me now. She keeps pestering me saying she's me and I'm her, or some dumb fantasy like that.”
You can't believe your ears. Sarah stole your body and now told a story that preemptively makes the truth sound like fiction. Mom would never believe what really happened now.
“Calm down, baby girl,” mom said, bending down low and giving you a tender hug. “If you'd like, I'll play Freaky Friday with you? You can pretend that you're the mom and I'm the little girl. Wouldn't that be more fun than bothering your brother?”
You sneak a glance at Sarah in your body. She's got a smug expression on your old face.
But what can you do? If you try and tell mom the truth, she'll assume it's all part of some childish game you're playing. If only you could get your hands on that strange, magic ball Sarah used to do this. There's no telling how long she plans to keep you trapped in her tiny body!
