This choice: Try to convince your mother about the swap. • Go Back...Chapter #5Try to convince your mother about the swap. by: Angeltastic You decide you can convince your mother about the swap. You greet your mother first and tell her there is something you want to talk about.
"Yes, princess?" Her use Sarah's pet name again is uncomfortable but you push on.
You start stammering it out. Once you get going you sort of just start blurting out the details, trying to explain about the mechanics of what happened. You talk about the orb and that you were minding your own business and somehow Sarah just came up to you and swapped your bodies. Your mother understandably is looking at you with bewilderment.. looking honestly a bit distraught.
Her lack of response bothers you and you quickly try to come up with proof.. but upon needing some you start to realize there actually isn't that much about you that your sister wouldn't know. The only thing you can think of is.. well.. the birds and the bees. But by the time you even say the word you've lost control of the conversation.
Your mother finally changes her expression, but it's that of anger. "KEVIN!" she screams, and after a moment you hear your sister leave your room. She stands out looking a bit confused, glancing between you two.. obviously trying to figure out what you had been talking about.
"I don't know what kind of stupid game you've put your sister up to, but discussing inappropriate things with her is out of line. You better not have actually discussed.." she paused for a moment and glanced at you, covering her mouth and mouthing something so you can't see it. ".. THAT.. with her, or you'll be grounded for a year. I'm not joking, young man."
"I didn't mom!" Sarah stammers.. and for a moment you consider getting her in trouble. However, you quickly remember that if you get your body grounded for a year.. once you get it back you'll be the one facing that punishment. Summer was right around the corner and you didn't want to spend it cooped up inside, without any friends!
"Good.. I don't know what you were thinking, Kevin. I know your a prankster but.. leave your sister out of it." Mother sighed. You became very aware how much they were having this discussion as if you weren't even there, which frustrated you. It's not like you were some kind of baby, Sarah was 8.. it might have been practically a baby but it wasn't actually one.
She motioned with her hand. "I got pizza." She grumbled, acting as if she regretted getting it now. "Wash up and eat." She moves away, grumbling something about working all day and coming home to this.
Telling mother apparently wasn't going to work. Sarah smirks at you, feeling pleased with herself.
"Mommy's not going to believe you, Sarah." she teased, once they were out of earshot. She smiled and walked away, looking excited. "Now I get the extra pieces and you only get one! I'm a growing teenage boy!" Seeming still very charmed and excited to now be the older sibling.
With dinner ahead, you weigh your options again. On one hand this was the perfect opportunity to go looking for the orb.. on the other there was a long night ahead of you. You could easily get it later.. and the look in her eye made you think Sarah planned on eating as much pizza as her now bigger stomach could fill. Which, from your experience, was quite a lot.
