Chapter #4

The Quick and the Dead

Laura moved aside as her behemoth bother approached. She desperately wanted her phone back, especially now that she could see that the Alterations app really did work. She kicked herself for not trying it out herself first.

As Greg got closer Laura moved farther from the doorway. She couldn’t believe his sheer size. All over his body his muscles looked fit to burst right through his skin and his veins were clearly visible pulsing with blood. Each step he took caused his thighs to pump and flex, the motion was hypnotic.

Greg glared at Laura as he passed, holding her in place with his eyes, willing her to stay put. He had no doubt he could overpower her with no trouble at all, but he didn’t want to hurt her if he didn’t need to. Once he reached the doorway he realized he no longer fit, his bowling ball sized shoulders were too wide. With a smug grin he turned a little to the side so he could pass between the jamb.

The moment Greg was out of the room something inside Laura snapped. There was no way she could just let him go, not when the key to her happiness was right there in his hand. She didn’t care how big he was, she had to at least try to get her phone back. She decided speed was her best asset, so as quietly as she could she hurried down the hall behind Greg. Praying he was too enamored with his own bulging muscles to notice her she waited until the hand holding the phone swung back her way and, as quickly as she could, slipped her phone out of his grip.

Greg spun around confused but Laura was far too quick and was already disappearing back into her room.

“Damnit! Give that back!” Greg shouted but the only reply was the sound of Laura’s door slamming and the lock clicking into place.

Greg stormed back to her door, his footsteps causing the very walls to vibrate. Behind him several hung photos came crashing to the floor. He yelled in after her, “Open this door right now!! Laura, if you don’t think I’m both willing and able of breaking this door down then you really underestimate me.”

He waited a moment for a response but when none came his head was filled with an image of Laura using her phone to undo the enhancements he’d made to his body. There was no way he could just let that happen. He brought his huge right arm up and, with no hesitation, sent it crashing down on the door.

The slab of wood split at the top, the gash running down the middle to a point 3 feet from the top of the frame. The upper hinge ripped from the doorjamb and the door twisted diagonally both opening his view of the interior and blocking his path at the same time. But before Greg could even think about getting around the door he saw that Laura’s room was empty and her window was wide open.
