This choice: Laura calls her best friend Jason to help her experiment. • Go Back... After a moment of temptation and deliberation, Laura thought it would be better to call up her friend Jason before she made any changes. Left to her own devices, it would be hard to hold back from going wild with changes. Besides, Jason was a smart guy. Maybe together, they could figure out some of the app's more advanced settings.
With everything that had already happened at her place, the two agreed it would be better to meet at Jason's house. They'd have the place to themselves save for Jason's sister Jasmine, who was normally out anyway.
Laura sneaks out, Vanessa still badgering Greg about photos of his diminutive size. Before long, she arrived at Jason's. She'd been over to her long time friend's more times than she could count growing up, but grew increasingly infrequent as the two had grown up.
"Hey! What's up?" Jason said, letting her in. Jason looked like he woke up not even an hour ago, clearly not expecting company. His slim body is dressed loosely in a Green Lantern t-shirt and pair of grey sweatpants. He brushes his ruffled hair with his hand upon Laura's notice. "What's this about a magic phone app or whatever?"
"Yeah! You gotta see it, come on."
Laura pulls Jason in, catching him up to the day's events as they settle in his messy room.
"No way...an app that can change like...anyone?? Greg made himself into a hulk and then you shrunk him back down...and now he's even scrawnier than me?"
Along with everything else they shared in common, Laura and Jason were both very much the runts of their family. Jason was just skin and bones, even his attempts at exercise did little to give him any muscle to speak of. It was especially unfair given how athletic his twin sister Jasmine had always been.
"Exactly! And now I want to experiment. Get the body I've always dreamed of, maybe more! You have no idea just how much this thing can do! Hell, I don't either, but we can find out together".
Jason scratches his head, trying to make sense of everything. Laura's story was incredible, but it was just too good to be true, right? Still, it couldn't hurt to go along with her. At worst, nothing would happen and it would just be a fun game, but if she was right...it could change both of their lives forever.
"Alright, check this out." Laura scoots up next to Jason, sharing the phone screen with both of them. She pulls up her profile, accurate right down to the clothes she was wearing that day. There were sliders all over, sorted into categories. Really, whoever designed this app's layout was a genius. So many options and still easy to navigate. Whether this app was magic or not, Jason couldn't deny how impressive it was.
"Alright, what should we change first?" indicates the next chapter needs to be written. |
