Cindy Lowel ran through the empty Rustone mall as fast as her legs would carry her as two level 2 zombies followed in hot persuit. She rounded a corner and began making her way to the escalator that would take her closer to the maintenance room where she would be able to gain access to the roof. As soon as she had gotten on she turned around and fired 3 shots from her handgun at the zombies. One went down with a headshot and the other took 2 rounds to the chest, causing it to stumble over the dead one as it tried to make it past. Cindy fired off one last round to finish it and stepped off the escalator onto the second floor.
"Shit, I've only got one bullet left... at least I'm almost there..." She said to herself as she followed the bright green arrow spray painted on the wall. After a few minutes of uneventful walking she came to two more arrows pointing down a hallway towards a security door. "Thank god..." Cindy mumbled as she played the events of the last 3 days over in her head. She had been with one of her best clients and they were going to see a movie and have dinner together before heading back to his house.
The movie had just ended when people in blood-stained clothes began pouring into the theater and attacking everyone in sight. Both Cindy and her "date" managed to make it out one of the back fire exits before being overwhelmed, but Jeremy was heavily injured from defending Cindy and coughing up blood by the time they got to his car. Cindy tried to help him as best she could, but he passed away shortly after pulling up in his driveway. After trying to spend the night at his house Cindy was forced to flee when the undead hordes began breaking in. During her escape Cindy had lost her own handgun, but was able to take the one Jeremy kept in his car.
After a day of running around the city trying to find help the car ran out of gas and Cindy had to continue on foot. Fortunately, she spoted a sign saying that survivours were meeting up at the nearby mall on the roof where they would try to alert help. Since she had no better option Cindy began her short journey to the Rustone mall. Now, after days of avoiding zombies she was finally at her destination. Cindy turned the knob on the security door... only to have it jam instead of opening. It was locked. "No, no! I'm so fucking close...!" She shouted as quietly as she was able. Cindy had made it to her destination... now she just needed a way inside.
