"Excellent. Five subjects, five peaceful awakenings. Release the cage locks."
A sharp metallic sound announced the release of electric locks on all five cages. The doors swung open slightly. The scientist commanded, "Come along, Ladies," and turned to walk out of the room. The students stood, uncertain at first, then all seemed to jerk to life, walking out of their cages and falling into line behind her. They were obeying involuntarily, walking out of the room and filing down an anonymous corridor wearing not a stitch of clothing.
Wills stated, while writing on her clipboard, "slight delay in compliance. I conjecture a slight calibration issue. We'll need to harvest more data on the implant upgrades before establishing a better initial setting."
"Why..." Jay stammered, shaking her head, but couldn't say more.
The scientist showed the five girls into a professional conference room of some sort. Several men and women in business attire were seated around the large wood table, some with laptops or blackberries on the table in front of them. She had them stand lined up along the wall normally used as a screen for the projector. They all clasped their hands behind their butts, despite the fact that every single one of them were desperately wanting to hid their crotches.
"Gentlemen," Dr Wills announced, oddly failing to address the several women in the group, "I present the first five members of our beta test group. They are all equipped with the R303 implant, they have all gone through successful physiological and genetic adjustment, and of course as you can see, the two former males passed quite successfully through gender correction. And with this batch we have our first 100% yield. All five women are first pass successes. If we can maintain such results and eliminate the need for three or four procedures per woman, we should see significant reductions in overall cost.
She held her hand up to the five and finished, "Gentlemen, I give you at long last your new world order."
All six men in the room applauded.
