Ash looked out the window of his home built by Father Bear. The well insulated and well stocked shelter sat on Little Bear's dresser and from what he could see out the window of the cub's bedroom it was beginning to snow heavy. he also noticed the wind had started to pick up. A winter storm was approaching. In his bed, Little Bear slept in deep hibernation. in another part of the House, so were Mother and Father Bear. They weren't always in this state, unlike their counterparts in Ash's world they only slept half the winter and only go into Hibernation sometime after the Winter Solstice celebration, their equivalent to Christmas.
Ash, being human, could not hibernate. He was well stocked with food and water, but the biggest problem was combating boredom. For the first week or so he remained in the warm confines of his home, but after that he needed to find ways to entertain himself. So he started to venture out into Little Bear's bedroom. The First trip didn't go so well. Without a fire in the fireplace the temperature of the Bear's home had dropped, not too cold for the Bears but for a small creature like Ash it was like stepping into a freezer and he wore clothes meant for Summer, not winter. He learned his lesson after that and fashioned a poncho out of some warm material Mother Bear had given him to use as a Blanket. This made the trips more bearable.
To get down from the dresser, a staircase had been build. Similar to a fire escape it was a rather long climb back up to the top but under the circumstances it was the best that could be done. Likewise there was also a string ladder that was attached to Little Bear`s bed so he could climb up there if he wanted to. There was also one attached to Mother and Father Bear`s bed, it been put there by Mother Bear. Some nights when Father Bear was away and she sat up reading he`d visit and the two would talk. Sometimes if their talks went too long and the hour grew late Mother Bear would invite Ash to sleep with her, pointing out that there was more than enough room for both. Standing in his home and lost in thought, Ash admitted to himself that there had been nights when he`d been tempted to explore the sleeping Giantess. Out of respect he never did, he didn't want to destroy a friendship and more importantly he followed the Golden Rule :Don`t mess with another man`s woman.
'Welp,' Ash thought to Himself 'Time for another walk'
Putting on his poncho and tying a piece of sting around his waist, he stepped out onto the dresser.
