After breakfast, Jeff went to school and pretty soon he was back into the everyday drag of things, the chronivac mostly forgotten. He was reminded of it the next day, at breakfast.
He got down , same as yesterday, a little past 7. He poured himself a glass of milk and sat down, just as a basket of laundry walked in on two short but very voluptuous legs.
"Morning!" The laundry basket greeted him with a high pitched, cheerful, female voice.
Emily put down the overflowing laundry basket. Jeff noted she had changed quite a bit from yesterday. Maybe the changes were only brought about when she was sleeping?
She was now down to 4 feet, giving her the average height of a 10 year old. Her midriff had skinned down noticeably, but her other proportions hadn't changed as much making her hips, bust and bosom stand out like skate-padding on a raccoon. She was wearing a stretchy yellow tube-top, black bolero and licorice-colored leather skirt.
She was wearing strikingly taut make-up. Black eye-liner, russian-red lips and he expected some sort of foundation as her skin was smooth as sanded wood.
Jeff couldn't help but stare at what the Chronivac had done. "What's wrong?" Emily asked him with a worried look. He shrugged. "It's nothing, mom. You look stunning, is all." In response to which came an endearing 'aww', a balmy kiss on his cheek and a slightly awkward hug. He drew in her scent, she smelled like a flowery meadow in the summertime. When they broke, all of a dog's age later, he was left with the fuzzy, tranquil feeling of unconditional love.
"My handsome sweet relish. You always know how to brighten my day." Her candy-coated response would normally be enough to make him burst out laughing. But now he could feel something other than humor in her words, something heartfelt and tender.
