Formal Introductions

As nervous as you were from being put on the spot so suddenly, you took a deep breath and tried to calm yourself down enough to form words. "My name is Thomas," you began.

"So you can speak fluently, then?" Twilight asked, and you nodded politely.

"Then why in the hay didn't ya say anythin' earlier?" Applejack asked.

"Sorry about that. This whole situation has left me kinda speechless, to say the least," you say nervously. Now that you were talking and were starting to adjust to seing these ponies without any clothes on, your "anxiety" began to simmer down.

"Define 'situation'..." said Rarity.

"You mean besides the fact that I'm in a strange home with six mares that I don't even know standing in front of me?" you ask, a bit of snarkiness leaking out of your voice.

"Hey! Let's not forget that you're the one who just appeared out of nowhere!" Rainbow Dash snapped with an accusatory tone. She flew up to you, shoving her face right in front of yours and glaring at you with her angry, purple eyes. "Now where did you come from and what's your business here!?"

"I'm literally inches away from you. Why are you yelling?" you ask, annoyed at the brash pegasus.

"It would help if you were a little nicer, Rainbow Dash," Fluttershy spoke up.

"I concur. You are being rather rude, darling," Rarity agreed.

"He ain't done nothin' to have you gettin' all in his face, so simmer down, Sally," Applejack said as she pulled Rainbow back by her tail. "So, you were sayin', Sugarcube?"

You blush a little when she called you that, despite the fact that she called everypony that at one time or another. "Well, as I was saying, I'm not from this world, and I have no idea how I got here. I can't even remember the last thing I was doing before I suddenly ended up here. I remember everything else except how I got here."

"But if you don't remember how you got here, how do you know that you're from another world and not just from another country, silly?" Pinkie asked with a laugh.

"Because walking, talking ponies don't exist where I'm from," you answered. "In my world, your world is a fictional place."

"So you know about Equestria?" Twilight asked.

"How much do you know?" Rainbow interjected, only for AJ to reel her in again.

You didn't want to tell them that you knew about all their adventures on the show. That wouldn't be a smart move. They could possibly see you as a threat if they know how much knowledge you had, especially regarding the princesses and the pivotal battles of Equestrian history. "The most I know is the four different pony races, the differences between hem, and where some of the major cities and villages are. Ponyville, Canterlot, the Crystal Empire, Manehattan, it's all just basic knowledge."

"So, pretty much no more than an average schoolfilly's history textbook?" Twilight asked.

"Possibly a little less. I know enough to stay out of the Everfree Forest, though." you say, attempting to make a joke, and you earn a few chuckles from Rarity, Twilight, and Applejack. Rainbow was still suspicious of you, Fluttershy shivered at the thought of the dreaded place, and Pinkie Pie didn't count because she's always laughing.

"Harmless, and he has a sense of humor," Rarity smiled. "Are you still convinced that he's a threat, Rainbow Dash."

"You bet your flank, I am!" she grunted.

"If it helps, I can't fly, I can't do magic, and my physical strength leaves a little to be desired... a lot, actually," you admitted.

"Well, from what you've told us, I don't think you're a bad pony," Twilight said. "Well, if I can even call you a pony."

"I'm a human," you correct her, "but if saying 'pony' is comfortable for you, I'm cool with it."

"Good. In any case, though, you'll need a place to stay while I contact Princess Celestia and Luna. Ideally, you'll need to stay with somepony that works from home and can keep a regular eye on you."

"Oh! Me! Mememememe!" Pinkie said, bouncing up and down again.

"You have to work in the bakery, Pinkie Pie," the purple mare reminded her. "You'll be too busy. Applejack's out, since she has to work the fields. Rainbow Dash has weather patrol, and even if she didn't, I don't think Thomas can even stand in her place, Flutershy'll be busy with her animals, so that leaves..."

"You and me, darling," Rarity finished for her. "Sweetie Belle is at our parents' house this week, and I can keep an eye on him while I work on my designs."

"Okay, then. Thomas can stay with one of us while we wait for a response from the princesses," Twilight said with a bright smile.

"Perhaps he'd like to have a say in the matter," Rarity suggested before turning to you. "Who do you want to stay with, darling?"
