Hiccup would be hog tied and having to shuffle and get at his knife it slipped from its sheath and he was having to get it positioned just right and kept on failing. The Night fury would soon look over Hiccup before helping biting the ropes and getting him free, though as Hiccup tried running he was soon captured and pulled into the dragon as it purred and liked him.
