It was hard to move as you were not used to the coils that replaced your body. Despite how hard it was you seemed to instinctually get the hang of it within a few minutes. Then you realized something else. Your eyesight was amazing. You could switch from a sort of inferred vision to an escalated and clearer normal vision as well as combine the two. Your realized this because you could see as if it was light outside but it was 2:00 in the morning. Granted there were a few street lights but this was on a whole different level. Next thing you noticed as you moved around your bed was that the rest of your senses were also enhanced and almost calibrated to hear things like heartbeats and smell body scents but could block out the louder noises and more unappealing smells like the milk you spilled on your carpet three months ago. One thing that got your attention was your tongue. You instinctually tasted the air around you as you observed your new state.
“Ok this is weird.” You said out loud, not noticing that despite you being a snake you could still speak perfectly. The Memory on how to speak properly must have transferred over and automatically trained your mouth and tongue to move appropriately. Then you realized something as you ended your fascination with your new look. You had a human life, so what about all those things; family, friends, school. Ok you really didn’t mind if you missed a bit of school. Heck if you stayed like this you could almost live like a pet. Being fed and looked after by people adoring you. They would buy you over priced toys that they think you’d like and you’d never have to get a job. Then you remembered how bad your sisters and family were with pets. Granted you were bigger than any dog, cat, or gold fish they (used to) have. However you could still remember how they would carry them around awkwardly and tease them as they “played” with them. You shook your head trying to get the images out of your head.
Before all those problems and decisions you realized that there was one that you would have to deal with. Your family’s reaction to your disappearance and a snake where you used to be, a talking snake. You then realized how weird that was.
How were you going to let them know without freaking them out?
