Lunch with the bass had been better than Jack had expected. Bob had been open and friendly, discussing the new responsibilities and getting better acquainted. They had lunch in a high end steakhouse, way above Jack's normal routine. Bob had announced that he was planning to have a big lunch and that Jack should feel free to have whatever he liked. We are going to take our time and so there probably won't be any need to get back to the office today.
Bob ordered a martini, Jack, a manhattan and over drinks they perused the menu. "The steaks here are so good, I need to get the 12 oz or I feel cheated. I used to freak out about keeping fit but with three kids and a job, well a man needs some pleasure."
The waiter was back. "Give me the 12 oz strip, baked potato, creamed spinach. Oh and another martini and the wine list. And one of those baskets of garlic bread."
Jack might have gone for a lighter lunch but, the boss was buying and , for now, Jack wanted to such up.
The two men chowed down. Bob, to Jack's surprise was quite a trencherman. He practically inhaled his lunch while Jack worked through it. Bob leaned back showing a respectable beginner paunch while he watched Jack eat. Then he waved over the waiter.
